I downloaded the Retromatic app which was free yesterday, but is back to $1.99 today at the iTunes store. Retromatic helps you create posters that look similar to the diner posters from 50 or 60 years ago. I used it in a different way which you can see from the examples at the bottom of this post.
When the program opens up you will see three categories:
- Load Photo
- Take Photo
- Gallery
My iPad crashed each time I tried to open Gallery, however, I used the other two categories with no problems.
After loading a photograph into Retromatic, you tap and hold down on the iPad screen and draw a line with your finger (or stylus) on the photo to indicate what part of the photo you want to use. The indicated part then pops on screen and you can choose a background, change colors schemes, use a few basic effects, add some insignias or icons, and some text. In one of the photos below you might recognize the hands and laptops from the conference shot that I used in my last post. The cat photo was cropped within Snapseed.
